Zimmerman As many of you are already aware, due to the passing of Peter Zimmermann in December 2008, Zimmermann Color Glass will cease production in September of this year after almost 150 years. The Zimmermann family has elected not to sell it's formulas for it's color line to any other glass color producer.
The C.O.E. of Zimmerman glass is 96 and is considered to be furnace blown.
The approximate grind size range runs approximately as follows: Powder, Size 00, Size 0: 1mm, Size 1: 1mm-3mm, Size 2: 2mm-4mm, Size 3: 3mm-5mm, Size 4: 4mm-7mm, Size 5: 5mm-10mm, Size 6: 8mm-14mm (Val Cox)
All frits are carefully weighed on a digital scale before packaging.
The BOC Samples are, however, for Challenge participants only... If there is a frit that you'd like to try this is a GREAT way to do it!!!! If you really don't want to take part in the Challenge and still would like to try out a frit, please contact me with the color and I'll send you a sample.... |
